This was made in 1951, two years before I was born; this is the first time that I had seen it! This movie will always be a favorite of people who love life and see it as a beautiful dream choreographed by their heart's desires. I don't know what went wrong where, but this transfer is kind of a joke. I have always enjoyed musicals, whether movies or live stage productions. But the story was too contrived, and the dance scenes were so completely separate from the story they may as well have just had them perform dance at Lincoln Center instead of putting them in the movie.
